So I'm a graduate now; I got a new haircut (21 inches to Locks of Love, chopped right off like ninja!); I got my guarantee form; and uh, oh yeah, got dragged shopping. I'm not quite sure I recognize myself.

May. 20th, 2006 06:30 pmMy first family is family Jürgen Schmiedgen in Crottendorf, Annaberg, Saxony, Germany, in the Erzgebirge (or Ore Mountains). For the uninitiated, that's town/municipality, district, county, and the country. It's like right on the border of the Czech Republic. That's it!

And yeah, just to be a complete dork, Annaberg has a crest, with a lion rampant on a field of predominantly Or, gules, and sable tinctures (I'm not a Gryffindor though...oh well. Gold and red are cool colors anyway).

Mar. 22nd, 2006 04:46 pmWow. Two hours later I get off the phone with my grandmother. My half of the conversation consisted mostly of "uh huh", "yeah", "right", and "is that so?"
*sigh* Boozy, Riley, she's throwing a graduation party on Memorial Day afternoon and you're coming with.
Ugh.
She coughs and then she says, "And *your father*," in that tone she has especially for that phrase, honestly, "keeps asking me, What does she want? Does she have her own computer? When is graduation? and I say, I don't know if she does, but she didn't have an MP3 player at Christmas, and," then to me, because I'm the adult in this relationship and therefore it falls to me to call him first, "you should email him with all these things, because he's waiting for you to tell him when graduation is even though he already knows, and then he says to me But how do you know? and I say Because I'm here and I talk to her, even though I never she her..." Then she proceeds to rant at me about all her children and the fact that Dad doesn't talk to me and she wouldn't talk to Aunt Cindy and (not so randomly because she always tells me this) how evil my mother is.
But the good side is that I can infer that my father is maybe kind of actually intending to buy me a graduation gift. Maybe.
That's actually kind of shocking.
Hilde, if you love me, you'll make me a head+desk=OTP icon. ♥ ♥ ^^ (actually that's open to anyone willing to cheer me up. Especially people newly with Photoshop for whom I sacrificed Stowe in a corset *nudgenudge*.)

It seems to be where goth, emo and punk comes together. Amusing to watch for someone like me. Almost as entertaining as when Billie Joe Armstrong nearly started orgasming onstage...

Jul. 3rd, 2005 10:47 pmI was at the carnival. Which was fun, but not as fun as Cirque de la Mer or anything- now that was amazing- and musing on just how cynical kids are today. I mean, fifty years ago those kids would have been wowed and seeing the show of a lifetime- but today all they said was "Ehhh, I want some cotton candy. Can I ride the pony now?"
*sigh* Anyway, then intermission came along, and since all the entertainment was twenty dollars or more I chose to draw the animals. While I was drawing Kelly came up to me and asked me (jokingly) if I would draw her kids on it for less than fourteen bucks- anyway, it drew the carnie's attention; he asked to see the pic. Yay, I show him the pic, then proceed to draw the ponies. Then the elephant carnie walks over and gives me a ticket, saying "You can just say you found it on the ground or something."
What can I say? I rode the elephant. That's the first time I've ever gotten anything for my pithy pictures- I mean, it was a forty second pic, come on! (I thought about giving the carnie the pic, but...He lives with the freaking thing, he doesn't need a picture, and my sweat blood and tears went into that sketch!...well, not really, I'm just selfish. ^_^;;;)
Maybe I'll stick the pic up here, when I can get to a scanner...
