Because I was thinking about patriotism.
Apr. 28th, 2007 12:40 pm( That Quiz meme. )
America, the Overview
(sung to the tune of America, the Beautiful.)
We've gun control, death penalty,
And too Roe vs. Wade
Religious sects, controversy,
Agendas flaming gay!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
With capitalism and patriotism, from sea to shining sea!
Oh breakdancing in gangster streets,
For rap, pop, and Country,
For rock'n'roll and hip-hop beats
For jazz and MTV!
America! America! May God get down, rock out;
We've got rhythm, so let's give 'em something to sing about!
For Mickey D's, for Taco Bell,
and youth obesity,
For freedom to sue them to hell
with law's impunity!
America! America! The world knows ev'ry flaw;
We get that stress from modern press: all of it's live and raw!
The telephone, and then, the car
Lightbulbs and TV
Computers and the Internet
Hell, electricity!
America! America's achievements are not few.
And next you're blamed, don't be ashamed, recall we've done good too!
For baseball games, for apple pies,
For gridlocked traffic lanes,
For weirdly mixed-up ancestries
We sing this great refrain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood, from sea to shining sea.
Yes, there is an extra verse. And yes, I know 'pies' doesn't rhyme with 'ancestries', at least not in a Midwestern accent. It's one of them, what d'ycall'em, visual rhymes. 'Symmetry' and 'eye' don't rhyme either but Blake got away with it.. *sulks*

All bases of CATS were
destroyed.
It seems to be peaceful.
but it is incorrect.
CATS is still alive.
ZIG-01 must fight
against CATS again.
and down with them
completely ! Good luck.
And of course, I figured someone else had to have done this before me.

Feb. 21st, 2007 12:36 pmWell, I am back I have a few pictures, but am having some pissy uploading-software problems, so they will have to wait until I have the patience/inclination.
In the meantime, if you so choose, you may enjoy this commentary on the German language, by Mark Twain. For those of you wondering how my German is getting along. (If you read nothing else, at least read the Tale of the Fishwife and its Sad Fate. Please.)

Create your own visitor map!
In other news, apparently in the USA there was some kind of sporting contest on television yesterday that's kind of popular...? (Bears or Colts? C'mon, tell me people!)

Nov. 23rd, 2006 08:42 pmTicket to Germany: $2,000.
Calling your sister from Germany while she's in Meijer: 0,02€/Minuten
Reading out a drabble over her Supertron 'squee's: 1572 words.
Getting your sister to say 'fuck' eight times in front of small impressionable children: Priceless.
There are somethings money can't buy. For everthing else, there's Meijer.
Anyway, for all of you still in the States: Happy Thanksgiving. For all of you /not/ in the States: REALLY HAPPY THANKSGIVING. YOU ROCK.
Also, to Frau Schubert, my English teacher here in Deutschland: YOU ROCK HARDER. Thanks for calling me to wish me a happy Thanksgiving ♥

....Why did buying porn for Boozy win me points, but for Korin lose me points? ( because she's underage? XD)
In other news, my physics teacher cracks me up.

Nov. 7th, 2006 10:42 pmHAVE YOU SEEN THE WORD OF THE DAY?? Yes, that's right. Ha, for those of you who didn't believe me when I said it was actually a word.
What? I like obfuscating. Because it is what it means. Hahaha.
Also, I was lost in thought today and didn't realize what had happened until Julia and Anna turned around and are like, 'What's so funny?' Apparently I laughed out loud. (At least I didn't fall asleep this tiem, Hilde!)
So I need a shirt that says, 'I'm laughing because the voices in my head cracked a joke.' Because yes, that's what happened. -_-
Um, I had something else to say but I forgot what it was. So, um....carry on?

Sep. 30th, 2006 02:36 pm( The Birthdate Quiz thing. )
Also, I was going to do the song meme, because it's fun, but a) know better, b)don't have enough songs. Which is killing me. I would go on a huge rant about how I don't have any music and how it's driving me into depression, and also about how I hate the human race and everyone in it (including me), but luckily for all of you I just fell in the rain barrel while watering the plants. So I must go get dry, and probably shouldn't be in here anyway.

Sep. 16th, 2006 10:49 pmFor those writers out there (that includes you boozy), a challenge for you. Write something inspired by Enya's May It Be- be it gen, slash, X-Men, HP, original, songfic....whatever. Anything. Dooo itt. You writers have no idea how frustrating it is to be inspired an unable to express it.

Sep. 5th, 2006 09:46 pmIf there is one or more people on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.
The Language of Silverware: If you put your fork and knife on opposing sides of the plate, it means you're still hungry. If you put them both on the right, it means you're finished. If you put them both on the left, it means you didn't like the meal.
( The Laws of Anime )
What a find that was.
School: incomprehesible. Yay for maths I've done already. Not yay for gym teacher with a mullet who looks like Patrick Swayze (this is a Very Bad Thing...I'm talking about a woman.)
But is Sport we played a kind of Prisonball, how fun is that? Except no bowling pins. And the gym is tiiiiny. (In History we're learning about Hitler.)
In other news, I have drawn a smexy man, a zombie marionette, and a conversation between angel and demon concerning the gavotte and small metal fasteners. (I think the smexy man is my favorite. Who here is surprised?)
Two more things:
1) Everyone reading this needs to bug Riley to get a LJ (that he friggin updates!)
2) That 391€ I was supposed to use to buy insurance? Can I buy an iPod instead? (I ♥ my Rotary Club.)

Aug. 30th, 2006 02:45 pmSo another word that should describe Deutschland is 'damp'. The state of things here seems to be a perpetual drizzle, with occasional sunshine but more often heavy rain. But then I've only been here four days.
The rain has a dampening effect on time, I think. That's why it feels so old here. Time moves more slowly because of the rain.
It certainly explains why it feels so wet.
( Quizzes )
I found out why the cute fuzzy wabbits aren't named.
They're Christmas dinner.
I don't know whether to be horrified, amused...or hopeful I'm here for Christmas. Mmmm, wabbit.
Also: Mum, stop freaking out, I have a bank account. And tomorrow to Annaberg for traveler's checks. Thing.
