What we did:
We went to a Gästhaus that was built in the Middle Ages (HOW EFFING COOL IS THAT? EFFING COOL!) Seriously, it was sweet. It looked so old and cool and great and old. And cool.
And we really did go for a roll in the hay with the boys: we were all sleeping in the hayloft of the barn, middle-ages style. It was fricken cool. and also cold. But soooo fun. And we went on one of those ropes courses, things, you know like you put on a harness and then clamber through the wires and jump and swing through the trees like a
And they built a concrete wall right through the middle of it.
There's a story of two brothers split by that wall, where what once was a minute's walk and a hop over a tiiiiny creek, in order for the East German brother to visit the West (vice versa was not allowed), it took a six hour train-and-bus journey. One minute.
I hopped over the little creek, and I touched the East side of the piece of wall still standing. And it was really humbling, how easy it was for me, and how impossible it was to East Germans for 24 years.
As a side note, George Bush, Sr. visited Mödlareuth while VP under Reagan =D It's romored that, instead of Kennedy's „Ich bin ein Berliner“ (as the tour guide translated, I am a jelly donut), Bush said „Ich bin ein Mödlareuther“. They seem pretty proud of this.
Yeah, Little Berlin. If you have any questions about the German-German border...Well that's what comments are for!
The Inbounds:
Tim, from ChicAHgo, we call Cameron because he looks like Cameron from Ferris Beuller's Day Off. (
Also, to the Latina who did that 'exchange a look with my latina chicas and then sing 'American Idiot' at me: If you're trying to insult me for being an American, don't do it by singing a song in English by an American band while wearing American Eagle. Because you just look stupid and I laugh at you. kthxbai.
Mää tahtoo veivaa veivaa. Mää tahtoo, VEIVAA! (I like to move it move it in the original Finnish!)

You did that on purpose, Kiki. I hate you.
...But despite hating you, I AM glad you found an otaku to talk with, even if only about the oldies of anime. Does he not know the new ones, or did you just want to talk about the old stuff?
By the way...?
TEACH ME HOW TO ANIMATE ICONS!!!!!

Date: 2006-10-12 04:14 pm (UTC)Some of those are debatable on the 'old-ness', depending on how you define old. But ye-ah. We talked about all of those (a lot of me asking 'Have you seen x?' and him saying, 'No... have you seen y?').
I beat you to The Song of Wind And Trees, the first ever yaoi, so stfu.
Man this got me on a kick of trying to remember all the old anime I remember....what was that movie that Sama had us watch, not A Wind Named Amnesia but the one with the cool guy with the wine! WHAT WAS THAT CALLED?!? And Panzer Dragoon, omg. DRAGON-HALF!!! I really need to stop now, you know this has been going on for three hours.
Someday I will make a post that includes all the anime that DotM does not allow me to count! *shakes fist* Someday....

Date: 2006-10-12 05:29 pm (UTC)I know the list is short. We both know the list is short. If I did a list of all the old anime I've seen, LJ wouldn't let me post it here. 500 word comment limit, you know. XD
