Definitely the worst bit of culture shock so far was walking into the Deutsch McDonald's.
I'm never going to go into an American Mickey D's again without throwing a fit at the lack of Schokobällchen. *sulks*

Date: 2006-10-17 08:27 pm (UTC)In any case, Schokobäallchen are little....chocolate balls? They are fried potato balls (or maybe batter, I wasn't too clear) with melted chocolate on the inside. German McD's sell them in Chicken Nugget boxes. Very delicious, especially dipped in ice cream (they're served hot.)
About that, the garbage cans? they had a section on top specifically for the cups, and the rest of it was a rack for trays with garbage on them. Presumably the employees separate the leftover food from the paper from the plastic and recycle. (I totally believe they do, too. omg, ew.) It wasn't really a garbage can. Also? Costs more. *nods*
Smells like fooood to me bwahahahaha.
